Direct-drive & High rigidity
The AP450L employs linear motors in achieving direct-drive with high speed and fast dynamic responsiveness that will not diminish over time. In addition, Sodick's unique gantry construction creates a low center of gravity, thereby able to minimize mechanical displacement caused by the shifting of workpiece weight.
New power supply unit
The new power supply unit uses Sodick's 5th generation “Perfect Active Control” EDM technology. In addition, the use of 1GB/sec serial communication data rate makes simultaneous high-speed processing of both discharge control and motion control possible, and delivers the highest machining precision and performance.
Ecology & Sustainability
Linear motor drive system does not require ballscrews, thus eliminating parts that wear out over time and reduces replacement parts. As a result, the machine can operate for extended periods without the need for maintenance. Reduction of replacement parts leads to less waste materials, which helps to protect our ecology.
